Often overlooked and forgotten with time, are many men and women who,
despite their absence in the pages of history, have been a vital part of Australia's
pioneering spirit. These 'Unsung Heroes' come from all walks of life and
backgrounds, and include drovers, property owners, country storekeepers and
shearers.
The Unsung Heroes project is a biographical database detailing these individuals
and their contribution to the Australian outback.
You may preserve the history of the outback by nominating a friend or family
member with the Australian Stockman's Hall of Fame and Outback Heritage
Centre. All nominees must have spent some time in outback Australia, or made a
significant contribution to the outback.
