Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame “Pink” ride in
Clare Valley SA

3 October 2010

Following the success of the 2009 “Pink” Ride, the Stockman’s Hall of Fame is pleased to announce the third annual “Pink” ride in the Outback in support of breast cancer research, to be held in Longreach, Saturday 26 June 2010.

Once again, horses and riders will deck out in various shades of pink to ride the 20kms starting from Longway Station and finishing at the Hall of Fame in Longreach, helping to raise much needed funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF).

The Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame CEO Ben Maguire said he is looking forward to hosting this event for the third year in a row.

“The “Pink” Ride is one of the most important events on the Stockman’s Hall of Fame calendar,” Maguire said. “In 2009, more than 200 riders saddled up to raise $30,000 for the NBCF. Riders congregated from all across Queensland, New South Wales and as far as Darwin in the Northern Territory to participate in the trail ride in Longreach.”

“As we look towards 2010, we can only hope for a similar crowd and support which made the 2008 and 2009 events so successful in Longreach,” he said.

Prue Fargher, event manager of the “Pink” ride in the Outback said so far, the support for the 2010 event has been fantastic.

“Once again, the community of Longreach has got behind the “Pink” ride in the Outback, and we are delighted to have them on board,” Fargher said.

“It is inspiring to have riders from all disciplines travel to the middle of the Queensland Outback in an effort to help make a difference to the many lives touched by breast cancer,” she said.

The 2010 Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame “Pink” ride is a slow-paced trail ride, which covers a course of 20kms. Registrations can be made prior to the event or on the day at 7.00am. The ride will depart from at 9.00am and finish at the Hall of Fame at 3.30pm.

A dinner and auction with ALL proceeds donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) will follow the day’s proceedings. Awards will be given for best dressed horse, best dressed rider, and best dressed combination horse and rider.
