The Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame and Outback Heritage Centre (ASHOF) is hosting a day-long trail ride to raise funds and awareness for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) on 31 May 2008. The event is part of the yearlong celebration of the Stockman’s Hall of Fame and Outback Heritage Centre’s 20th Anniversary and opening of the new Cattlemen’s Bar & Grill.
All trail ride participants will be encouraged to dress in pink and dress their horse in pink to show support for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, with prizes awarded to the best presented horse and rider. The daylong ride will be followed by a dinner at the Cattlemen’s Bar & Grill, where an auction will also help raise funds for NBCF.
With marshalling and a campfire breakfast starting things off at 7:00am on Saturday 31 May, riders will depart for the daylong ride at 8:00am. Along the trail, riders will encounter bushrangers, mounted police and grey nomads, meet for a bush BBQ lunch at Midday and then continue through until 4:00pm when all riders will come through the Hall of Fame’s guard of honour. Each rider will be able to celebrate with the winners for best-dressed awards and take pride seeing the running total for funds raised for NBCF rise with each rider through the guard of honour.
The Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame and Outback Heritage Centre Pink Outback Trail Ride benefiting the National Breast Cancer Foundation has been organised by a core group of local woman and is being supported by the Longreach Pony Club, the Longreach Fire Brigade, the Longreach Police and the Australian Agricultural College – Longreach Campus.
